Ummm, it’s 2016…. 2016!! How?? Is anyone else freaking out?!!  I feel like it was just a few months ago that I was writing up the post for the Top 10 Recipes of 2014 and now it’s already time to recount the Top 10 of 2015 on à la Susu.

This past year has been such a learning experience for me in the blogging world. I’ve tried to improve a little bit at a time from the content to the recipes to the photography to teaching myself the backend of websites (a.k.a. pulling my hair out!!), and while I do see growth in myself, I hope that in the coming year it’s a lot more obvious. I wouldn’t be doing this if it wasn’t for my love of food and sharing it with others, and while I didn’t think I could love food any more than I did, it has actually happened!! I have big plans for the year to come and hope that you’ll join me for the ride :).

It is always SO fun for me to see what you guys were most interested in throughout the year. Some posts I actually expect to make the list, while others really surprise me (especially #2, considering how late in the year it was posted and it made second place!). Here they are, your favorite recipes of the year.

Top 10 Recipes of 2015

10. Vegan Kibbeh Nayyeh

Kibbeh Nayyeh

This recipe was battling it out with the Baked Butternut Squash Fries and beat it out in the last few days of the year!! I figured the fries deserved an honorable mention for putting up a good fight ;).  If you haven’t tried this red pepper and bulgar kibbeh,  2016 is the time for that. Oh, and don’t skip the fried onions and walnuts on top. Amazingness.

9. Vermicelli Tomato Soup

Vermicelli Soup

A go-to when my husband and I are looking for a quick, comforting soup to enjoy. Just a few ingredients and 20 minutes, no wonder it made the top 10.

8. Sahlab

Sahlab

I think I would have been surprised if this recipe didn’t make the list this year. If it’s cold where you are, now is the perfect time to try this creamy, pudding-like drink.

7. Waffled Akkawi & Mint Grilled Cheese

THISSSSS!!! It’s a childhood favorite of mine so you can imagine how happy it makes me that you enjoyed it as well. I could go for a crispy, cheesy, waffled sandwich right about now….

6. Balsamic Berry Fruit Roll Ups

Fruit Roll Up

Homemade candy. It’s the perfect solution to satisfying your sweet tooth. You know exactly what is going into it and can tweak it to your taste. I can’t wait to try other homemade versions of popular treats and share them with you!

5. Banana Nice Cream

I’m totally not surprised this was on the list. I STILL can’t believe how similar to ice cream blended, frozen bananas are, and the possibilities are endless.

4. The Best 1-Bowl Banana Bread

Banana Bread

This is one of my favorite versions of banana bread ever! Its so simple, so moist, and so versatile. And anything “1-bowl” is my best friend….

3. S’mores Truffles

I loveeee that you all enjoyed these as much as I did! They’re little balls of heaven that are absolutely addictive.

2. A Simple Trick for Super Smooth Hummus

Hummus

I was so surprised that this one made second place! It’s definitely a great recipe, but it was posted late September so I didn’t think it would make it this high on the top 10. At least now I know you guys love tips and hummus ;).

1. Falafel Pie

This recipe was so well received from the very beginning that I am not too surprised it was the most popular of 2015. It’s been a while since I have even had it, but it’s perfect for brunch menus for gatherings or when you need that falafel flavor without the calories of the fried version.

That’s all for now, did your favorite make the list??
